Our family has been picking wild rice on our
PRIVATE LAKE for over 40Yrs.
I learned the art of HANDPICKING
wild rice in 1959 and continue to pick our lake every year.
Our wild
rice is 100% lake rice.
Not paddy rice or cultivated rice.
It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!!!
We live in harmony with nature. Our biggest competitors are
the wild ducks and the weather. Since we can not control either of
those, we enjoy watching the wild life and hope for calm skies around
harvest time.
The amount of Wild Rice we pick, each year, is controlled by
nature. We will continue to pick our rice but to keep our customers
supplied we have found naturally grown Wild Rice in N.W. Manitoba. It
is not as profitable for us to fly 2 planes up there to buy Wild Rice
but it IS an adventure. Our commitment to only sell Natural Lake Wild
Rice has not been compromised. I hope our current customers or future
customers
understand this.
